The final concert of the Autumn 2026 Season will be conducted by acclaimed Italian maestro Carlo Rizzi, leading the Symphony Orchestra of India in a rich and varied programme that blends operatic drama, lyrical beauty, and symphonic power. The evening opens with Rossini’s sparkling Overture to Semiramide, a dazzling showcase of orchestral brilliance. A selection of beloved Italian songs by Tosti and Cardillo follows, filled with heartfelt emotion and romantic lyricism. Puccini’s Intermezzo from Manon Lescaut and Wagner’s Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin add dramatic intensity and lush orchestration to the programme. The season concludes with Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No. 5, a powerful and revolutionary work whose unforgettable four-note motif has come to symbolize triumph over adversity.
