The Symphony Orchestra of India’s Autumn 2025 season presents a rich and diverse musical journey under the baton of distinguished conductors Andrew Litton and Martyn Brabbins. The season opens with Litton leading the orchestra in Wagner’s transcendent Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde and Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 5. He returns for a second concert joined by renowned pianist Konstantin Scherbakov, featuring Ravel’s hypnotic Boléro, Tchaikovsky’s passionate Piano Concerto No. 1, and the magical brilliance of Stravinsky’s Suite from The Firebird.
Martyn Brabbins, recently appointed SOI’s Chief Conductor from January 2026, returns to lead two concerts. Highlights include Rimsky-Korsakov’s vividly imaginative Scheherazade and Shostakovich’s emotionally charged Symphony No. 5, a powerful reflection of artistic resilience. The season concludes with Brabbins conducting Elgar’s spirited Cockaigne Overture, Tchaikovsky’s beloved violin concerto performed by SOI’s founding Music Director, and stirring excerpts from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.  This season promises an unforgettable celebration of orchestral storytelling and virtuosity.
