Founded in 2020 by conductor Yaroslav Zaboyarkin with the support of Yuri Temirkanov, the New Chamber St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra brings together outstanding young musicians alongside members of the renowned St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Dedicated to championing young artists, presenting fresh interpretations, and exploring both celebrated and lesser-known repertoire, the orchestra has quickly established itself on the international stage. Its performances at leading festivals, world and Russian premieres, and cultural exchange projects—including its 2025 debut at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall—reflect its dynamic artistic vision and growing global presence. Marking the 120th birth anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich, this programme centres on his music, complemented by works of Tchaikovsky and other composers.
